Day 2: Gothenburg
THE REAL SWEDEN EXPERIENCE
Gothenburg is a small city from an international perspective, encircled by rocky shoreline, deep forests, tranquil lakes and the surging sea to the West. No other Swedish city gives such easy access to nature. Right on its doorstep are wide open spaces and magical islands. Four centuries ago, the decision was made to build a harbor city on the west coast. The ambition was to open up Sweden to the outside world. Building a city on Swedish marshland, wedged between Norway and Denmark, was no easy undertaking, but with the help of the Dutch, English, Scottish and Germans, the vision was realized.
Company Visit Volvo Cars
The Volvo Cars Visitor Center is located in the very heart of Volvo Cars in Torslanda, Gothenburg. Volvo aims to give us a unique insight into one of Sweden’s most important industries, including a tour of their factory, driving the latest Volvo cars and a guided visit of the Brand Experience Center, where we can learn about Volvo’s vision in areas such as connectivity, safety, design and the environment.
City Tour & Botanical Garden by Bike
The tour will be from the Opera House to Gustav-Adolf-Platz, past the Carrier’s Park to the Cathedral Church and along the canals to Götaplatsen with the Poseidon Fountain. We will continue via the Vasagatan to the historic district of Haga. A break in the Botanical Gardens is recommended before heading across the large city park to Masthugg Church and back to the ship on bike lanes. Panoramic Trip through the picturesque
