Dreams become visions, visions become ideas – in 2021 a special idea becomes reality: We are going to connect people and nations celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime conference on a cruise ship!
JCI Germany (Wirtschaftsjunioren Deutschland, WJD) is the largest association of young leaders and entrepreneurs up to the age of 40. Although our members are committed to their respective professions, they also want to take action and create impact on their communities as well.
We find solutions to local issues to benefit our communities, our world and our future. Embracing new ideas, collaboration and diversity, we have the passion and courage to address the critical challenges of our time. There are more than 10,000 active members in Germany.
Our global network of Junior Chamber International (JCI) consists of more than 200,000 members in most countries of the world, almost 32,000 of them in Europe!
GERMANY’S LARGEST CRUISE PORT
Rostock has about 205,000 inhabitants, making it the largest city in the region in terms of population. The eastern part of the city is distinguished by its international port, commercial sites and the Rostock Heath Forest. The city has a Baltic Sea port, Warnemünde, which is important for ferry traffic and cargo handling and boasts Germany’s largest cruise port with more than 200 visiting cruise ships per year.
THE REAL SWEDEN EXPERIENCE
Gothenburg is a small city from an international perspective, encircled by rocky shoreline, deep forests, tranquil lakes and the surging sea to the West. No other Swedish city gives such easy access to nature. Right on its doorstep are wide open spaces and magical islands. Four centuries ago, the decision was made to build a harbor city on the west coast. The ambition was to open up Sweden to the outside world. Building a city on Swedish marshland, wedged between Norway and Denmark, was no easy undertaking, but with the help of the Dutch, English, Scottish and Germans, the vision was realized.
CITY OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
The Norwegian city of Oslo is Europe’s fastest growing capital city, with over 661,000 inhabitants and is quite different from many other European cities. It combines captivating modern landmarks and a stylish silhouette with a number of impressive buildings in the city’s historical districts of St. Hanshaugen and Frogner. A recent addition to Oslo is the Nobel Peace Center, from which the Nobel Peace Prize is presented each December.
THE ROYAL FAMILY’S HOME
Denmark's capital city is located on the eastern coast of Zealand and is directly connected to Malmo in Sweden via Øresund Bridge. Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen became Denmark's capital city in the 15th century and is home to the world’s oldest monarchy with an extremely popular and modern royal family. With over 585,000 inhabitants, it is cosmopolitan and at the same time blessed with a small-town-feel.
